travels // niagara-on-the-lake [eh?]

happy may day, friends! best month of the year as far as i’m concerned. just arrived back in ‘merica after spending a few days in the lands of canada. it was a good trip, but it’s good to be headed home – especially knowing that i won’t be traveling again until june. i do enjoy my travels (not the packing part, obviously) and now is the time of my life where i want to take advantage of getting to have these experiences and explore new places, but there is definitely something to be said about getting back into a routine. i know a certain pup that will be pleased to have me around for more than a few days at a time, too.

this trip was full of cute things and great photo opportunities. i flew into the buffalo-niagara airport and met up with some co-workers to make the to the lands of tim hortons. we stopped along the way at a local place, the flying turtles, for their “famous” beef on weck [roast beef on a kummelweck roll aka a sort of french dip]. then we made a pit stop to get some shots of niagara falls from the american side. yes, i’ve been told the canadian side is much better, maybe next time. it was surprisingly a nice sunny day so the views were beautiful.

then it was off to niagara-on-the-lake which truly is the loveliest little town in canada. so quiet and quaint and historic. driving down main street i lost track of how many times we said, “awwww” or “cute!”. thus, that street was dubbed, the cute street. we stayed at the queen’s landing which was equally as lovely. we enjoyed good food, incredible wine, great company and a successful conference. and with that, it’s time to prepare to board. see you soon, minnesota.

travels // Cincinnati

hey there blog world; remember me?

i have so much to tell you about. oodles of fun things have been going on. like that i got engaged; that i went to my first cooking class; that i attended my very first blogging conference; that i rocked my return debut as a social media diva. all that and more coming to a screen near you.

but first, the start of a new ongoing series. i am fortunate to get to travel all over the place both for work and for fun and sometimes i mash up of the two. already this year i’ve been on seven trips. what better place to share and document the snazzy {and sometimes not-so-snazzy} places i get to explore than here?! exactly.

i just returned yesterday from a trip to Cincinnati for a trade show. it was my first time in the great(?) state of ohio, in the land of chili (apparently there’s a 3/4/5 way at a place called skyline. who knew.) it was a short and sweet visit filled with booth hours, good food, cheap wine, trade show swag, and good times with some cool kids.

here’s what went down in cincy-whatski (babes in toyland, anyone?)

so that’s that. back to the lands of minny… for a little while anyways.

safe travels, lovelies.

take me back to NYC {our must experience while in nyc in december list}

Empire State Buildinglast week i traveled to one of the fabulous places one could visit during the holiday season; new york city. even better yet is that i got to make the trip with one of my favorite people ever, the love of my life. it was hands down one of the incredible tips ever; nothing short of wonderful and perfect. we managed to check off just about every “must do while in nyc in december” item on our list. we were only there for 4 short days, but we were able to make so many memories and have an unforgettable time. so, as promised in my title, rather than just tell you about what we did, i will turn our trip into our list of the top “to-do’s” while in nyc both in general and more specifically during the holiday season. i hope that one day everyone can check these items off their bucket list [because they should be on there].
